Baritone Sinan Vural, born in Ankara, Turkey, received an academic degree in Computer Science before he started singing. He started singing lessons with Yildiz Tunbul in Ankara. He continued his vocal studies with Anne Haenen at the conservatory in Enschede, The Netherlands, and with Cora Canne Meijer at the New Opera Academy within the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Currently he works with Margreet Honig.
He sang parts in operas and operettas such as Dido and Aeneas (H. Purcell), Cosi Fan Tutte (W.A. Mozart), Die Lustige Witwe (F. Lehar), and Pimpinone (G.Ph. Telemann). His repertory further includes many oratorio works such as St. Matthew's Passion and St. John's Passion and a great number of cantatas by Bach, Requiems by Mozart, Fauré, Duruflé, Brahms and Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, as well as more contemporary works like La Danse des Morts (A.Honegger) and Der Ozeanflug (K.Weill).He also frequently gives song recitals, with a particular preference for French works. As a choral singer he sang in several interesting operas: The Rake's Progress (I.Stravinsky), Curlew River (B.Britten) en The Death of Klinghoffer (J. Adams). He is a frequent member of the renowned Dutch choir Cappella Amsterdam. This season he has sung the role of Malatesta in a Polish-Dutch production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale, as well as two roles in a production of Chiel Meijering's last opera STYX, with Xynix Opera. Next season he will perform the leading role in Fons Merkies' last opera "The Black and the Beautiful", with Xynix Opera.
